A worked example: one sightseeing day on an Activa
All the figures in this example are invented round numbers to show the method. They are not quotes or current Jaipur prices. Swap in the figures your provider gives you.
In this invented example, the bill comes to 65 per cent more than the headline rate. Now suppose the same rider returns one hour late, with an invented ₹150 hourly rate and ₹100 fixed penalty: that adds ₹400 under a 'fixed fee plus double the hourly rate' rule. One hour of lateness costs as much as a whole extra day of rent.

What 'one day' means on a Jaipur listing
The word 'day' covers very different lengths of time here, and that changes the value of a daily rate more than a small price gap does. The catalogue shows at least three patterns.
- A 24-hour block: the ONN Bikes rates in this catalogue were captured for a 24-hour rental, 9 am to 9 am.
- Stated pickup and drop times: Qvki listings carry their own times, and they vary. One Activa shows 10 am to 6 pm, another 8 am to 9 pm, and a third midnight to 11.59 pm. Ask what those times mean for your booking.
- A minimum number of hours: Royal Brothers publishes an hourly tariff with a minimum booking, which was 10 hours for the petrol Activa at the last check.
Hourly or daily rate: how to pick the cheaper one
Divide the daily rate by the hourly rate. That tells you how many hours it takes for the day rate to become the better deal. For ONN Bikes Activa listings at the last catalogue check, the answer was between about two and three hours, so a booking of more than three hours favoured the daily rate.
With Royal Brothers, multiply the hourly figure by the minimum booking before comparing. A low number per hour is not a low bill if you must pay for 10 of them.
Why km limits rarely bite in the city, and when they do
ONN Bikes Activa listings showed a free allowance of about 150 to 225 km per 24 hours at the last check, far more than a day in town needs. Royal Brothers works differently: its Activa 125 listing allows 5 km per booked hour, so a 10-hour booking includes about 50 km.
That 50 km is tight. The one-day scooty sightseeing route covers roughly 40 to 50 km, so a detour could push you into excess charges. Outside the city, no allowance is safe to assume, and a scooty is the wrong tool for the road to Pushkar in any case.
Fuel is a smaller worry than people expect, but note that the Activa 110's tank holds 5.3 litres. Photograph the gauge at pickup, and fill up close to the drop point rather than guessing.
Choosing an Activa without overpaying
The catalogue lists the Activa 5G, 6G and 125, and the rate can differ for the same version at different branches. Compare the Activa on rent in Jaipur page by branch, then add the auto fare to reach it. A cheaper branch across town can cost more once you count two trips there and back.
If the Activa is not available or looks dear, the scooty rental listings for Jaipur include the TVS Jupiter, Suzuki Access and Honda Dio. For two people on a short city rental, these do the same job.
If the bill at return is higher than you were told
Stay calm and sort it out at the counter, because it is much harder to dispute a charge after you have left.
- Ask for an itemised bill showing each charge and the rule behind it.
- Show your pickup photos of the gauge and bodywork, with time stamps.
- Get the refund date for any deposit in writing or on chat.
- If a challan arrives after you return the vehicle, ask to see the notice before you pay it.
- Licence holders under the Rent a Motor Cycle Scheme, 1997 must keep a complaint book at their offices and send copies of complaints to the licensing authority, so ask for it if the provider will not engage.

ONN Bikes says its deposit is usually zero but that select locations may ask for one. So ask your branch. A blank deposit on this site means the listing did not state one, not that none applies.
Can two people ride a rented Activa in Jaipur?
Yes, two is the legal limit. Section 128 of the Motor Vehicles Act allows one person in addition to the driver, and both must wear a helmet under section 129.
